Hello David,

I just spoke with a person involved with the MS society ( not the ultimate contact) she told me that when people with MS get the steroid treatments there is a horrible coating/taste that they get which feels like a coating and tastes terrible, they use Dill PICKLES to get relief from this, she said that eating one pickle(large) will give relief for about 2 hours!!!
I learn so much each minute of the day!!!

Looking forward to talking to you again soon!

Laurie

Dear David,
I heard about pickle pops from an internet friend, and since I love pickle juice I had to try them. This is actually my second order, my first was for 40 and they didn't last a week. I have about 10 friends who are now pickle pop fiends, so in self defense I upped my order to the box of 120. We love them. Keep up the good work.
Thank you,
Debra M 5-6-08

Hello David,

Yes this is my first order. A friend who is also a closet pickle juice drinker (ha ha!) and a diehard pickle eater told me about them. Once she received her order she told me about great they were. She offered to bring me a couple to try! I fell in love with the first bite. I was hooked... So I decided this is a great fundraiser for my daughter's preschool and for the college I am employed at. I have been looking for opportunities to raise money for scholarships for our college students and/or our Student Government Association. And now I have found it. I can guarantee I will have many more orders to come. This is just a test run. I read the nutritional information and articles related to it. Impressive. Thanks for an exciting new twist on a product we all love!

Hello David,

I first heard of you through a newspaper article in the Tulsa World.  We ordered some at that time (from a different address...we have since moved) and are hooked now :)

Thanks, Sarah G 5-4-08

Hi David!

Yes, this is my first order. I'm a Certified Personal Chef based in Westchester County, New York and read about you in the New York Times. I have a couple of great ideas for using your pickle pops, and want to do some recipe testing and developing. I'll let you know how they  turn out.

Dear David,

Thanks for your email.  Yes, I was watching CNN and really enjoyed the newscast about your product.  I love dill pickles and seeing your product was one of those "what a brilliant idea - why didn't I think of that" moments.

My PayPal account was initially established while residing in Germany.  When I relocated to Dubai, my new address and credit card details occasionally present confusion when using the PayPal check out system; sometimes it shows Germany and sometimes UAE.

We're looking forward to receiving your wonderfully described product.  I will share with my colleagues here at the Emirates Airline Safety Department - we're an international group of technical experts and perhaps I can drum up some more orders for you.

Best wishes,  --Helmut

Hello David,

This is indeed my second order.  My grandchildren LOVE the pickle pops and I love their eating them instead of candies and other sweets!

One of my daughters called me this weekend and asked if I had more of them because her kids had eaten all that I had given to her.  Since I only had about 2 dozen left I immediately put in another 120 order.
My grandson says that all of his friends want them because "they love them to death".  This was a statement that you actuallly had to be there to have enjoyed to it's fullest extent.  He was VERY antimated!  LOL.

Thanks so much for these wonderful treats.

Hello Bob's Pickle Pops,

This is my first order but I will defiantly be ordering more.  I got them for us to eat & share with friends.  So far EVERYONE LOVES THEM!!  My Mom has had some health issues recently & craves sour things.  Pickle Sickles hit the spot!!  I also was very impressed on how quickly they arrived.  I ordered them on Wed. & had them at my door on Sat.  We ordered 60 & have already eaten half of them!!  Thank you for such a great product!  I just wish I had thought of it!!!!

David,

I was amused to see the picklepops' tent at the New Braunfels (TX) wine festival.  It brought back fond memories of summertime when I would take my daughter, Nora, to the snow cone vendor and she would always order a dill pickle snow cone.

Back in April, Nora called to tell me she and her husband were expecting their first baby.  She was elated, but also aprehensive and a bit homesick, too.  Her husband, Ivan recently graduated from Navy basic training.  Then they moved to Goose Creek (Charleston area), SC.  where Ivan is in school.  Up until a few month's ago, my daughter had never lived very far from her family.  Even when she was in college and living on campus, she was within walking distance of her mother's and grandmother's houses.

A box of picklepops sounded like the perfect present  for Nora's first Mother's Day.  She was thrilled to receive them, but those sentimental picklepop moments did not last too long.

From your website, I noticed they were available at Central Market.  When I was in Austin, I looked but could not find them in the store.  So, I went back to your website and placed an order of 120 to be sent to my daughter (however, since then, I have seen Bob's Picklepops at Central Market in San Antonio).

Nora was grateful for the new shipment and has even shared them with some of her new friends.

Is there anyplace near Charleston, SC where Bob's Picklepops are available?  Nora's going to be pregnant until October.

Hi,
I am an avid cyclist, and pickle juice is very useful during long summer rides.  You may want to spend some time targeting this crowd for your product.  There are always vendors offering trial samples of pickle juice at the Hotter n Hell 100 in Witchita Falls in late August.  Your may want to consider comming out to that event as your packaging is quite a bit different and easier to carry than a bottle of pickle juice.  We tend to freeze to pickle sickle and put them in our water bottle and fill with gator aid or some other electrolyte drink during riding and eat/drink the pickle pop after we finish off the fluid in the bottle.  This makes it much easier to carry than other pickle juice products.

Today, I picked up a box of Pickle Sickles at the Central Market here in Houston. I figured I'd either love them or end up with a box of frozen pickle juice sitting in my freezer until the end of time.

After trying my very first one, I'm glad to say (between smiles) that this box of pickle juice won't last for long! Absolutely addictive--and healthy, too!

An Extremely Unique Fundraiser
Written by Melissa    4-25-08 USA Fundraising.com
We all like to try unique fundraisers, something that no one has ever heard of. Here’s an idea for you: Bob’s Pickle Pops.

You must be shaking your head totally confused thinking what, a pickle popsicle? Yes siree, a pickle popsicle! Now, why on earth would you want to do such an extremely unique fundraiser? Is it maybe too unique?

Many reasons. First of all, it’s a great conversation piece. Every single person you tell will say..wooahh gross, but will absolutely want to try it out of curiosity. Add this conversation piece to a hot day at an event and you’ll sell tons of Bob’s pickle pops .

Not only are they original but they are USDA accepted for schools. They are a healthy alternative to regular sugar popsicles. With growing concerns of childhood obesity and diabetes, Pickle Pops are a great fundraising alternative. They are a frozen treat made from liquefied dill pickles. You can even try them unfrozen as well!

So how does this fundraiser work? You can make 50% profit on every case. There is a minimum order of one case, which contains 120 popsicles. Your cost is $0.50 per popsicle and you sell them at $1.00. Best of all, shipping is free and it ships between 2 to 7 business days! You can even order these online .

We wanted to see for ourselves what people thought of Bob’s Pickle Pops, so we handed out a few to our friends. Seeing that a picture says a thousand words, check out these pics:

Those are some pretty unique expressions!  And sure enough, everyone wanted to try a Pickle Pop for themselves after seeing these reactions.

Oh, and you just have to check out the websites pickle songs ! There you have it, your next extremely unique fundraiser.

Happy Pickle Pops Fundraising :-)

The transcript follows....

Arlington, Va.: I loved the article about pickle juice! I actually tend to add the leftover pickle juice to potato salad and even tuna salad: it adds a necessary zing! It also helps to add a bit of the juice to the water when you boil potatoes to prevent potatoes from getting too mushy.

When I was a little girl, my mom marinated her own tomatoes and watermelon, and the "juice" from that is even better!!!

Bonnie: That potato tip may just net you a cookbook today . . . are you listening, editor Joe?

Joe: I'm with you -- I've added pickle juice to potato salads for longer than I can remember. And I've been known to drink from the jar, even . . . .

Pickle Sickle: The video on the pickle sickles was great... especially loved the girl clenching her teeth because she was trying to smile... haha! So cute.

Joe: Glad you liked it. Leave it to our great video editors at WPNI -- I of course laughed the whole time I was filming that one, but I never would've thought to put that particular moment in, and it ended up being one of my favorite sections!

I'm thinking pickle flights now.

Start the meal with various sorts of pickles in their various guises. All of them cucumber, of course - so that the taste variations could be noted and dissembled. Dissembled meaning whatever meaning you wish it to have, as we are talking of pickles here and everyone knows what sort of personality pickles have.

The main course would be a Russian pickle soup accompanied by Southern deep-fried pickles.

Dessert would be a chocolate-pickle fleur-de-sel caramel with a side of banana-pudding pickle foam served in a hollowed-out pickle capped with some Pickle Sickles.

Now wouldn't it be loverly!

I HAVE TRIED THEM!

My dear friend and downstairs neighbor recently had a baby, and during her pregnancy, her partner went online and ordered her a case of these (in what would appear to be a halfhearted attempt to play into the old 'you're pregnant so will likely want to eat weird things' idea). She raved about them and wouldn't quit pushing them on me until I tried one, and lo, with her face grinning at me in wild anticipation of my first crunchy, yellowish-green frozen bite, I was instantly horrified. Yeah, it's pickly. It's ice cold. It's salty, vinegary, hard as a rock, with absolutely no hint of sweetness. I really wanted to support her love of them, but I just couldn't. They ARE as gross as they seem. Kids would probably totally love them just for the shock value. However, I must say this -the company apparently kicks butt, because they later sent her a whole second case and a t-shirt for FREE, along with a nice thank-you letter for their first purchase. You certainly don't see that... well, ever!

Hi guys!

I'm the crazy lady you ran into in the parking lot of Sam's today!  True to my word, as soon as I got home I checked out your website and I'm hooked w/o even tasting them!!!!  (Can't tell you how many times my mom smacked me as a kid for sneaking drinks of pickle juice out of the jar!

My kids are psyched and we've already placed our order for 48 Pickle Sickles!  Some of which will immediately have to be shipped to my oldest daughter in Tallahassee, FL!!!  They're all already running around singing the Pickle Song, too! lol  Can't wait to introduce these to my Scouts!  You guys will have to stop by and see me some weekend - I'm the weekend x-ray tech in Seguin at Guadalupe Regional!  (I saw that's where ya'll are from!)

You guys aren't hiring, are you?  I'd give up shooting x-rays for this idea!  It's the BOMB!

Thanks again for being so nice this afternoon and giving me the info!  And GREAT IDEA!!!

Dana

Eat, crunch, enjoy, cut.

They came at 11 in a heavy little box. Underneath the snappy graphics was a hot mass of plastic and green liquid, slightly sticky.

One by one, I wiped them clean and placed them in the freezer. They fit in every nook and cranny when the box wouldn't.

Up from a nap, I peeked in the freezer. They were frosty and frozen and not sticky at all.

I brought one to the computer, thinking I will make a small cut at one corner and taste it. I had had plenty of pickles in my life I didn't like.

It was refreshing, it was cleansing. It was special. It was my kind of pickle. I started cutting off the top with every bite, holding scissors in one hand.

Eat, crunch, enjoy, cut.
Eat, crunch, enjoy, cut.
Eat, crunch, enjoy, cut.
Gone.

Oh, wow, was I glad I had placed that order. I want another. Right now. Remembering not to run with scissors.

My second pickle sickle, I wanted to invest. Congratulations.

I bought the pickle sickles for work and everyone here was digusted when I first told them that I brought in Pickle flavored pop sickles, but after I convinced them to try the pops - we're all hooked! They're SO good and the perfect salty craving solution!!

We plan on ordering more!

Thanks Farrah

Kimberly,   The picklesickles were amazing. My daughter is in love with pickles, as well as her friends, and she gave some to her best friend for her 18th. It went over really well. Thank you for the quick delivery and adorable product.

Thanks again, Tammy

ADDICTED

I have an 11-year old who is addicted, and I mean ADDICTED to dill pickles.  They are her favorite snack, no matter what time of day.  As such, I could not resist ordering the pickle sickles for her to try.  Let me state that she now thinks that I am the best thing since sliced pickles!  The product is an absolute hit.  I think the only thing she had to say that could even be considered negative was that they weren't as long as regular freeze-pops.  She quickly found a solution to that though, have two!

Michael

Hello David,

Thanks for your enthusiasm!!  Here is a review I wrote awhile back that you will enjoy reading.  I am interested in your product -- and our research is suggesting that the vinegar should perhaps be ingested with a potassium source as is the case with pickles.  We recently completed a 12 week trial feeding our diabetic subjects pickles and they seem to work well.  We can test your drink in the lab -- our subjects do not like drinking the vinegar (straight) at all -- so a tasty drink like this might be the ticket.  (P.S.  My doctorate is from UT Austin - I have extensive family in the Austin-Dallas areas....)

....Kids went wild for them...they suddenly had a hard time keeping up with demand and the pickle sickle was the talk of town...at least that little town...two months ago when I started pitching the idea of doing a sweet little story.

Now?

Oh, well now things have changed a little.

Apparently I'm not the only fool hardy news guy willing to pitch the idea of doing a story on pickle sickles because one of the major daily newspapers in Texas finally got wind of the pickle sickle phenomena fermenting. On Tuesday, the Austin American Statesman picked up on the story and produced a huge front page above the fold feature story about the pickle sickle. The Associated Press then snagged and distributed the Statesman's story and...well, the rest as they say is the sweet juice of in your face justice....

Hi!

JT Street here from Fox 29, KABB in San Antonio. We want in on the Picklesickle craze!

Is there any chance that we could get John to come into the studio with us and do a segment on the morning show featuring the picklesickle?

Let me know!

JT jstreet@sbgnet.com

I think, if you can get it to a mass market in a quick period of time, you'll be able to dominate this niche market.

I showed my 12 year old niece, who is visiting from San Antonio, your MySpace page. Her remark was, "I freeze pickle juice in ice trays at home all the time." Even at 12 years old, I think she understands the potential of your business.

She then proceeded to ask me to order a couple of cases for her.

Best wishes to you in your endeavor.

Richard

Duncan Wells

I understand that these pickle sickles are a bit of a hit in your area. Is that true? I've worked around kids for more than 25 years and I've seen how they seem to take to certain oddities when it comes to sour candies, explosive candy like pop rocks, icky candy like skull crushers and the like.

The pickle sickle certainly sounds like it has that appeal. Advertising and promotion and finding distributors for the pickle sickle will be your key to success. Just knowing that it's a frozen treat and one that has a familiar flavor tells me it could be a HUGE hit anywhere in Canada or the United States. I mean, everybody loves pickles so how can it miss?

I wish you lots of luck with it!

Duncan Wells, the composer of the Pickle Song.
